Here's a little more detailed information about the band's members.

The band was formed years ago but the current members have been together since 2005

The Groove Doctors prescribing some 'Blues Remedy' to an enthusiastic crowd during the Patong Beach gig.
It doesn't get much better than this: huge stage, excellent sound and lighting, all in a fabulous tropical paradise location.
A memorable gig!

The band in action
We opened for the Thai band "Carabao" in Aug. 2005 at Patong Beach. It was an outdoor concert put on by P-Audio
Inc. A Public Address System company out of Bangkok that flew 700 people down to Phuket for the concert.
About 8,000 locals also showed up.
It was a lot of fun meeting Ek Carabao and playing on the big stage.

RICKY
|
The heart of the Groove Doctors, Ricky brings an innovative, aggressive style to drumming.
Ricky, the youngest and newest member of "The Groove Doctors" comes to us from Bern Switzerland. He is
a Funk/Blues specialist and we are really happy to have him as he fits our style so well and combines to, and enhances the
"Groove"!
His ebullient on-stage presence and sheer joy in making music shines through. He is an energizing force, lifting and
shaping the band with his deft, highly musical rhythmic patterns.

Ricky gets his roots from the likes of Boz Skaggs, Ian Hunter, and the new sounds of Oasis and the Cure.

IGGY
ON BASS

Iggy hails from Sweden and provides the excellent bass playing the Groove Doctors have been searching for. Before coming to
Phuket he was a regular player on the Bangkok Blues circuit where he first met and jammed with Tony in many of the top venues
in the city. Although he came to Phuket as an acoustic guitar player (many of the musicians in the groove doctors play multiple
instruments) he has now found his niche playing bass and Blues are a big part of his long history as a musician.
Also, Iggy is another excellent vocalist and adds the 4th part in many of our multiple harmonies. With his addition
to the band, we now can sing the Eagles and CSN&Y and expand our repertoire of music.
Some of his favorite music is the Blues Brothers and Smokey Robinson. A true Blues freak!

Glenn: Keyboards, Acoustic Guitar, and Backup Vocals
90% of the time, Glenn plays keyboards in the band bringing a blues/rock "Hammond" type sound to The Groove Doctors.
He does fill in on some acoustic guitar rhythm parts from time to time and also does some harmonizing on Tony's excellent
vocals
|

|
Some of Glenn's favorite recording artists are: Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Eric Clapton, Grateful Dead, Bob Marley,
Dave Matthews Band

Tony "CHAINSAW" Wilson
Tony has been singing the blues for 35 years and in that time he has shared the stage with some of the great Blues Legends:
- Zakiya Hooker, Teddy 'Bluesmaster' Watson, Ronnie Stewart, Victor Brox, Billy Judd, Paul Bryden - to name but a few!
A real entertainer who can make everyone present feel like they are a part of the show.
His voice has been compared to Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn and many others and he has often been described as 'the
small guy with the big voice'
He has the ability to take a standard blues song and make it his by stamping it with his own unique style!
Tony is a native of Northern England but has been living in Phuket, near Nai Harn beach for the past 9 years.
His musical influences are, Boz Scaggs, Ray Charles, Alvin Lee, Robert Johnson, John Mayer, Don Henley.

 |
Rob
Rob hails from Wales and brings his self-taught guitar style to the band.
Listening to Rob play is an essay on the art of blues guitar.
His licks are his own as Rob has not played in "cover" bands. He's been playing for 28 years and has been living
in Phuket now for 11 years.

WHY 'GROOVE' DOCTORS?
WHY?
Because when Rob, Glenn, Iggy and Ricky start laying down some righteous licks and rhythms behind Tony's vocals it's anyone's
guess where the song is going to go!
Once they settle into a 'groove' you can feel the energy and power of their superb musicianship take over.
It's a mind blowing musical experience to watch their uncanny understanding and anticipation and to hear them take a number
to new heights!
Their experience and ability combined with their willingness to experiment during a number means that the music stays
'fresh' for both the band and the audience regulars.
They are truly 'GROOVE' DOCTORS!
